Hold Me Down
I don’t wanna do somethin’ I’ll regret, so
Hold me long
In 10 or 20 years maybe I’ll forget
The reason we are together, so
Hold me down
There’s two ways to go down the road of life, so
Hold me long
You threw me away and you can’t turn back, so
Stop where you are
And have a candy bar
And rearrange your heart for me
Stop where you are
Stop where you are
Stop where you are for me
Stop, stop, stop, for me
Hold me down
You better watch out I’m not the only one around, so
Hold me long
This ain’t a circus and I ain’t no clown
Hold me down
There’s two ways to go down the road of life, so
Hold me long
You threw me away and you can’t turn back, so
Stop where you are
And have a candybar
And rearrange your heart for me
Stop where you are
Stop where you are
Stop where you are for me
Stop, stop, stop, for me
Hold me down
Hold me long
Hold me down love

In Your Quiet Home
Never before
Have I felt pain
Not in my life
Till I came here
Doors never close
Nights are depressing, oh
Can’t sleep in the day
I never get rested, oh
Takes all my time
And all my strength
To do one third of what I have
And need to do
And it must not seem so sad to you
In your quiet home
And you’re not tired
And you’re not sick
And you’re not hungry
But you will be lucky, yeah
And share in my dream
Because you really and deeply understand
Fools and Friends
Hyman Naugthon sat down to write a song
With the help of some expensive words
He was comin’ right along
He wrote about his troubles
And then he wrote of death
He wrote about his love affairs
And then about himself
He played his favorite two chords
He played them back and forth
He sang his verse and banged the strings until his voice was hoarse
And them some unexpected changes
That hardly made good sense
And he proudly viewed coarse fingertips to be used as evidence
I’m speaking of the gentle
Fools are rude and mean
I don’t know if I’d make a judge
It’s only what I’ve seen
Yeah, sha-sha, hey-yeah
There’s love inside of everyone for yourself or someone else
And they’ll want to take you with them
On their side of the fence
But a friend of mine once told me
If your neighbor’s house should burn
He’d want your house to follow
Depressed was I to learn
Friends all around who fear my cold condemning stare
Handed down from older men, they seem to insane to care
Then again I don’t understand
My mind must be truly dense
But I think what they call genius
Is simple common sense
I’m speaking of the gentle
Fools are rude and mean
I don’t know if I’d make a judge
It’s only what I’ve seen
Yeah, sha-sha, hey-yeah

No One And The Sun
In the evenings days don’t seem too long
Happiness is fading into dawn
No one sees it, such simplicity
No one sees it but me
In the afternoons I sometimes see
Images of suns that wait for me
No one sees it, such simplicity
No one sees it but me
But every sun that shines its light
It shines its light for me
And every morning sun will break
Lookin’ to the sea
And every day the sun will stay
Until it has to leave me
When there comes an evenin’
In the evenings leaves are folding in
And we wonder where the time has been
No one sees it, such simplicity
No one sees it but me
But every mornin’ sun that shines
It shines its light for me
And every rainbow on its rays
Ready to be free
And every day the sun will stay
Till it has to leave me
When there comes, yeah, the evenin’
Yeah, oh, the evenin’ has come and gone my friend
Vieux Carre
I’m down on Bourbon Street again
Down in that quarter of sin
Standin’ on a corner where I used to stand
Down by Charlie Weaver, that old hot dog man
When you’re singin’ and a playin’ one year seems like ten
But I’m down, down, down in Vieux Carre again
Street people never go to Pat’s
We never zip as hurricanes, no
I’m down on Bourbon Street again
I’m back to see all my old friends
On the corner cuttin’ that Dixieland
King Creole is one who seldom found
Oh and Papa Joe’s is one place that I’ve never been
But I’m down, down, down in Vieux Carre again
We never sip on Hurricanes, no
I’m down on Bourbon Street again
Down in that quarter of sin
Standin’ on a corner where I used to stand
Down by Charlie Weaver, that old hot dog man
When you’re singin’ and a playin’ one year seems like ten
But I’m down, down, down in Vieux Carre again
Flying Horse of Louisiana
Flying Horse of Louisiana
Were you ever unknown?
Did your crowd fail to cheer?
Were you left standing and forsaken with your tears?
Flying Horse of Louisiana
Don’t you know you’ve won at last?
Flying Horse of Louisiana
Yes, you’re as proud as you can be
With your strength and all your power
And the ultimate of speed
Flying Horse of Louisiana
Admit this isn’t all you need
Flying Horse of Louisiana
Do you know what this means?
Fill your head with love and dreams
And touch the tops of the trees
You’ve outdone the soldiers
And the heads of the world
Flying Horse of Louisiana
After I Smoke, I Like To Sleep
Now its time to sleep
This is my sleepin’ song
I hear it in my ears every week
It just goes on and on
Yes, now you close your eyes
A hero you’ll become before tomorrow comes
Then it will end, and you’re ridin’ into the sunrise
With your battle and your lover, you’ve won
Then you’ll see things
As they seem
From a standpoint
The stories of your dreams
In this night of no memory
You can be exactly as you want to be
So be gallant, be ruthful, be beautiful
May the next hit you take be a headful
Oh, yes I do, I like to smoke with you
Yes I do

One Life Two Live
How long will it take
To find someone to make me happy?
How long will it take
To find someone who would love me?
When I have one
And my work is done
And it makes my way to a brighter day
When illusions stray
And I will say
One!
It started when I found my friends
They would help me through thick and thin
But then she came our way
Making every day just like Saturday
Yeah, heh, yeah yeah, my my, yeah!
Yeah, make my brighter days
Make my brighter days
One today, one today, yeah
All my life I’ve been tortured
But exactly what life had to be for me
My friends have been so much to me
Simply holding life together
Black Blues
Yeah, gunna sing a song about the blues
And man and his hallucinations
Oh the rust stains in my pathway
And the gravestones of my here say say
I been crammed up my byway
As the milestones of every every day
But the truth is here to find
And I’m gunna make it mine
And I’ll find it my way
Oh jealousy reeks with pain and time
But why are so many good eyes blind?
Will they ever stop a fightin’ long enough to find
Their way to happiness and peace of mind?
Or will they end up eatin’ the flesh of their own kind?
Oh, I don’t wear no uniform
Yeah, and I don’t carry a gun
But I can tell you many many wars
That I have lost and won
Yeah, and my friends might as me
What color are these blues?
And then I might say
Black is their color, black as any ordinary day
Yeah, gunna sing a song about the blues
And man and his hallucinations
Oh the rust stains in my pathway
And the gravestones of my here say say
I been crammed up my byway
As the milestones of every every day
But the truth is here to find
And I’m gunna make it mine
And I’ll find it my way
My Brothers And Me
We started off in life so fancy free
We ran in a pack, oh my brothers and me
And then we could see, where we should be
A place called reality, where we could be free
We told our elders all things must be fair
We could be good men, and we could have long hair
Turn into the one thing that we all could feel
We lived our music because it was real
We are their spirits
My bothers and me
We are their spirits
And their spirits are free
And their spirits are free
Sent by a challenge, in pursuit of a song
A spiritual crusade, to compare right to wrong
We are no man’s army, but a movement quite sure
Our heads quite learned, and our hearts quite pure
Yeah-yeah, they’re free
And their spirits are free
Hot ‘N’ Nasty
Chorus
Yeah, they call me yeah Hot ‘n’ Nasty
Yeah, they call me uh Mister Fancy
Yeah when you ball me
Yeah, you’re hot ‘n’ nasty
Oh when you ball me
You’re Miss Fancy! Right!
When I come a knockin’ at your door
let me in and I’ll tell you some more
no two men are ever the same
and they tell me Jim Dandy
is my name.
Chorus
They say Jim Dandy is my name
They say Jim Dandy is my fame
Always to blame
Always to blame
And always just the same
Yeah, Hot ‘n” Nasty
Chorus
Jim Dandy
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!
I was sitting on a mountain top
30,000 feet to drop
Tied me on a runaway horse
Uh huh, that’s right, of course
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!
One day, I met a girl named Sue
She was feeling kind of blue
I’m Dandy, the kind of guy
Who can’t stand to see a little girl cry
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!
I was riding on a submarine
Got a message from my mermaid queen
She was hanging on a fishing line
Mr. Dandy didn’t waste no time!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!
Once upon a time, I went to Maine
Got a ticket on a DC plane
Mr. Dandy didn’t need no chute!
I was high and ready to boot!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Jim Dandy to the rescue!
Go, Jim Dandy! Go, Jim Dandy!
